April 2009

Using a pagemaps sketch

Hey there...how was your Tuesday???

Hope you've had a great day.

Just a quick share tonight ....a recent card I made using a Page Maps sketch for the Scrap Pile April Queen of Cards competition.....

...this is the sketch....

Thumb_Card_Sketch

and this is my card......

SP Queen of Cards Sketch Card

I had fun with Bo Bunny Love Shack papers...lots of fun colours and patterns, a couple of chipboard swirls painted with MM paints and a Prima Esprit flower.

Thanks for popping in to see what I've been up to. I'm off to have my cuppa and decide on what to create next:-))) Have a happy Wednesday.....

Scrap Pile Mini Retreat

Hey there...how are you today?

It's a beautiful Sunday morning here and we're enjoying a pretty slow start:-)

My title refers to a little get-together the Scrap Pile girls had in Brisbane yesterday....at Scrapbook Princess - a beautiful shop in Cornubia.

SPrincess

About a dozen of us got together, many of us meeting IRL for the first time (Hi Leone, Jaki, Sally, Leah, Kristy, Karen, Fiona - all Brissy girls from the Scrap Pile forum) and Mel and Helen who travelled down from far north Qld to be there......also met Kerryn and Shannon from Scrapbook Princess -so  lovely to meet them all:-)

Of course at any "retreat" more chatting than scrapping is the order of the day (not to mention the eating and laughing) so I always take along something that takes only minimal concentration to complete...I have learnt this from experience LOL. I cuttlebugged a bunch of small card bases before I left and took SU! stamps, inks and markers with me to dress them up throughout the afternoon/evening. Here's the results.....

Thank You Cards 1

....colours are Pink Pirouette, Cameo Coral (left card) Regal Rose and Kiwi Kiss....stamp set is the retired SU! Bodacious Bouquet...tags are cut using the CBug Tiny Tag Dies and stamped with Inque Boutiques Thank You Sentiments - one very handy little set:-)

Thank You Cards 2

...this time I've used Eastern Blooms and coloured them with markers direct to the rubber and then "huffed" on them to remoisturize before stamping.

...and lucky last....

Thank You Cards 3

...Bodacious Bouquet again, stamped with Taken With Teal (left - I need to reink my pad I think) and Tempting Turquoise on the right, leaves either Kiwi Kiss or Old Olive.

So a good feeling to get some cards made to have on hand (often for my SU! customers) and enjoy a lovely long afternoon with like minded crafty souls.....something that I find is so good for my soul:-) Thanks girls!

I'm off so have a wonderful Sunday all.

CPS Sketch #112

Hey there....how's your Thursday going?

Woohoooo it's nearly the weekend....happy, happy, happy:-))))

I've had a play with the latest CPS Sketch, some SU! colours and some Hero Arts Stamps.....

Here's the sketch..... 112 ....and here's my card......

CPS 112

What do you think???? Something a bit different on the all white background huh.

The colours are Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red....the stamp is from HA Circular Designs Set and the sentiment is from the Stampendous Flower Box Set.

So, do you have some lovely plans for the weekend?

Whatever you get up to I hope it's all thoroughly enjoyable.

See you again soon.....

Cheers to You and Upsy Daisy....

...are the 2 new SU! stamp sets we used at my new Catalogue Party last week. The Cheers to You set is so versatile as it has a heap of different drinks images...including a beer mug, that's going to be useful for male cards huh;-)

Here's what we made with it.....

Cheers to You Flip Top

The cardstock is the new In Colour Baja Breeze, with a small square of Kiwi Kiss and the DSP is from the Good Morning Sunshine pack. I've cuttlebugged the top of the card with the Bubbles EF. I got the idea for this card from Karen Thomas...a fabbo SU! Demo in Mackay. Look at how the card opens....

Cheers to You Flip Top Sentiment  ...how cute is that huh.....I just love it:-) Also love that the cute little cocktail glass fits perfectly in the SU! Square Scallop Punch.

The other card we made uses the gorgeous Upsy Daisy SU! Set...here it is Out for Publication Sign

I am so in love with this image....oh I may have mentioned that have I LOL....for this card I shadowed the image using Pirouette Pink/Riding Hood Red and my handy dandy Stamp-a-ma-Jig for perfect placement. Papers are from the Bella Rose DSP pack, ribbon is SU!  Chocolate Chip Grosgrain - lovingly tied in a bow and fastened with one of Grandma's old buttons.

Thanks for visiting me today...I love it when you do!
