I hope wherever you are in the world tonight that you and yours are all safe and sound. Queensland is in the grip of terrible floods at the moment and it really makes you stop and realise how precious life is and how quickly it can be snatched away.
I do have a card to share with you tonight but wanted to show you something I received in yesterday's mail first.
Being an avid card maker I end up with a LOT of cards....yep you too?? Well I cannot possibly use/sell/give them all away so at the end of 2010 I researched somewhere I could send my "extra" cards. Surely someone somewhere could put them to good use?? I came across Operation Write Home which is an absolutely fantastic organisation that takes handmade cards and sends them to troops fighting all over the world so they can send them home to their loved ones. Awesome group but I decided I wanted something more local and that's when I came across Ronald McDonald House. I'm sure you know the wonderful work they do and I was delighted to find that my handmade cards would be gratefully accepted and used by those staying at the Ronald McDonald Houses here in Queensland. So I packaged up 2 big Post Paks and sent them off - one to Townsville (Ronald Mc Donald House 100 Angus Smith Drive Douglas TOWNSVILLE QLD 4814) and the other to Brisbane (Ronald McDonald House 22 Garrick Terrace HERSTON QLD 4006).
Here's the inside of the card I received from "The House that Love Built"....
I tell you all this because maybe you too would like to send some of your cards to a worthy cause. Do you know any other local charities that accept handmade cards? If you do I would love you to tell me in the comments so others can read about them too...thanks!
Now how about my latest card.....I've had fun with the VERVE sketch for this week which looks like this....
Cardstock: Bazzill White
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Tickled Pink
Stamps: See D's
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: Nestabilities Lacey Circle; white seam binding; Kaisercraft rhinestones; Prima flower centre; Copics; My Mind's Eye trim.
Tools: Cuttlebug, sewing machine.
Thanks for your visit to my little blog...I have had a pretty busy crafting time of late so will be back to share more real soon.

What a wonderful idea, I've often wondered what I can do with my 'extra' cards, thanks for sharing you have inspired me (again)!
