The deadline has come and gone and I have tallied up the final numbers for our first year taking part in the Caring Hearts Card Drive.
We have totalled 538 cards :) Isn't that AWESOME!
I unwrapped 4 packages last night, one of which I was eagerly awaiting - having corresponded with Deb about the way she was getting her school (Bundoora Primary in Melbourne) involved in the drive.
Deb gathered a group of crafty friends together and they made 100 beautiful cards. These cards were then decorated and signed inside by the students of the school (and staff members) who made a small donation to do so, thereby raising some postage money at the same time.
Wasn't that clever!
I thoroughly enjoyed pouring over these cards and I could feel the love that had gone into them...as will their recipients this Christmas.
and on the inside...
There's just something about the sweet drawings of children isn't there - they are sure to put smiles on faces I know it :)
Deb also created another 25 cards as her own personal contribution!
Thank you so much to Deb and the staff, students and parents of Bundoora Primary School for this wonderful combined effort.
I hope you will be happy to know that your cards will be received by the elderly in 3 nursing homes in Victoria :)
Bye for now...
