We have friends with twins - a boy and a girl and they turned one a couple of weeks ago so this was the perfect challenge to get me busy with their first birthday card..........using Basic Grey's Life of the Party Range.

Basic Grey 2012 Calendars

Hey there.....how's your week going?

Hump Day tomorrow - YES!! Especially as I don't work Wednesdays....woohoo:-))

I've been chipping away for a few weeks now at my 2012 Christmas Gift Calendars - 4 of them. I chose the Basic Grey Calendars this year - I've made one for me :),  one for both Mums and one for a friend.

So here are a few layouts you might like to see....

Basic Grey Card Sketch

Hey there...I hope you're having a great weekend.

Wow the weather is fantastic here in SE Qld.

DH and I enjoyed this view over lunch at the Kurrawa Surf Club yesterday.....

what a perfect start to our holiday :)

Last night I was keen to make a card for the first Card Sketch up at the new Basic Grey Blog. Basic Grey has always been one of my favourites....what a cool sketch too....

I used my 6x6 Out of Print paper pad......hope you're ready for patterned paper overload lol....

Such a cool graphic range of papers:-)

Now it's time for me to get off here and go and weigh some luggage:-)

In Sympathy....

 

Hey there...I hope you've enjoyed the start of your weekend.

Remember I mentioned I was making a couple of sympathy cards for Alicia to sell over at Aussie Cards for Sale...well here is the first one.....took me all day to finish it......to say I was distracted by everything else around me is an understatement....dusty shelves, dirty washing, dog hair, bench crumbs, beds to make, floors to sweep - you name it , it distracted me today. Normally I can put on my blinkers and ignore those things ;-) ....within reason lol......but not today! So my house is sparkling tonight....and I have a new card for ACFS....I've gotta be happy with that:-)

A quick update...

Hey there...how are you? I hope you've had a great week.

Wow not often I'm not around on the bloggo  for a whole week....felt strange not being able to pop in and share my latest creation....but the time away was good for me....makes you miss and appreciate (even more) this beautiful hobby we have:-)

I hope you caught my scheduled post last night for Cardabilities....my last card for them....on the DT anyway - I love Karan's sketches so much I'll keep playing along when time permits:-))

We had a wonderful few days away....Peppers at Kingscliff is a great spot to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our day trips around the local area doing what we wanted, when we wanted :-)).....as you can when there's only the 2 of you - and you can please yourselves.

Here's a pic from our unit....

Monday was the most perfect Winter's Day so one of the places we checked out was Byron Bay....look how calm it was....

We spent an hour watching whales cruise by just off shore.

You can get the most delicious homemade ice cream at the Lighthouse Cafe.....yummm wish I could have another right now lol:-))

Mum and the kids looked after each other while we were away and Mum and I managed some good "catch ups" in amongst it all too.....this morning she headed home on the train and I hit my scrap room to finish off my cards for the July Card Kit at Shop and Crop.

Stamp It Time in Paris Stamp

Hey there....I hope you're having a great week so far!

I have a couple of cards in the current issue of Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine which feature the most gorgeous Stamp It Stamp......Time in Paris.....

aaaaah I hope to have just that one day lol.

Now that the cards are published I look forward to pulling out this stamp and playing with it again and again:-)

The next I stamped straight on the doily for a different look.....

I am soooooo looking forward to my day "off" tomorrow.....I have just a little smidge of crafting time planned....in between loads of washing.........I'll be back with more to share before you know it.

Boys Birthday

Hey there...hope you've had a great day!

I have a nephew turning 11 tomorrow (avert your eyes now Vyc!) so what better excuse than that to play with a new digi image from  Mo Manning and my Boy Basics Rock On set from Papertrey Ink.

Combining the two, I came up with this birthday card....

I wonder if "E" rocks the air guitar like this lol. Vyc??

Whether he does or not I hope he will like his birthday card :-)

CASE Study #36

Hey there Papercrafters!

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend...we sure did. Today DD and I head off for some Retail Therapy so that will be a lovely way to finish off the hols:-))

I've been playing with Chupa's CASE Study Challenge and had fun CASE'ing this sweet card from the current Muse Silke Ledlow....

I stuck with the coloured PP panels down the left hand side, sentiment stamped bottom right, a Copic coloured image and a central focal point and came up with this....

Patterned papers and chipboard pieces are from Basic Grey's Kioshi range. 

I had lots of copic colouring fun:-))

Now I'm off to get ready for our shopping expedition....hope you have a wonderful day.

Hopscotch Cards

It's a beautiful mix of muted colours and I had heaps of fun mixing and matching with all the pretty patterns.

....border punch is Martha Stewarts Daisy punch.

 
This one uses the SU! bird punch with Basic Grey's Indian Summer papers and the MS Daisy punch again. The "Thanks" is from a We Are Memory Keepers set.

What a week it's been...I need some serious card making therapy just to get over it I think lol!

So I've made a start on my therapy tonight with a card for Week 2 of this month's Verve Sketches. Here's the sketch....

Hey there....how was your day?

All's well here....the week seems to be going fast so far. Yaaay for a day "off" tomorrow to catch up on other jobs around the place....including a few crafty things:-)

Over the weekend I had a chance to create my card for the Verve February challenges - Week 1. I try to play each month so that I have a chance to win some Verve stamps....I don't have any of their gorgeous goodies yet....fingers crossed hey;-)

Papertrey Favourites

 

Nichole at Papertrey Ink has got a great competition running with the chance to win an absolute stash of new Papertrey goodies....I've just got to throw my hat in the ring:-)

We have to show our favourite Papertrey project from 2010......I've chosen this birthday card I made back in May using the April Year of Flowers Set - Sweet Peas.....

Paper is from Basic Grey's Lemonade paper pad....another of my favourites from 2010:-)

 
This was one of the first few images I coloured with my Copics .....Copics being another favourite for 2010 lol.

Well today I have managed to get a card order finished and packaged up ready to send and now I have a shabby card just started on my desk that is calling my name. DH and DD are out fishing tonight so hope that's all going well....I'll send them a text and find out:-)

So wonderful to see the Channel 9 telethon doing so well tonight to raise money for all those Queenslanders devastated by these horrible floods. And still the rain comes down! It is really unbelievable.

Thank goodness for this wonderful craft in this wet and miserable weather huh....I have been playing this afternoon with the latest colour challenge at CR84FN which looks like this....

Making a list.....

 
Hey there.....how's your 23rd of December going?

I am crossing things off the list here:-))) Pressies are wrapped and under the tree....that's always a good feeling huh.

The tags I'm showing you today were created for Shop and Crop using Basic Grey's merry Jovial range and have all been put to good use on pressies for family and friends.

 

 
 
 

Another thing I've crossed off the list is my Mum's Christmas Calendar....

 
Isn't this is a beautiful photo of my sister and her eldest daughter?!

Now I am working on my Mum-in-laws calendar (we won't see them until after Christmas) and only have 2 layouts left to complete....I am determined not to make a card until those 2 layouts are done....and that's killing me cause I just got a new There She Goes stamp set in the mail and I'm dying to use it!!

Best I chooff off and get those 2 layouts done then huh!
