Sweet Sentiments

I have 3 cards in Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft Magazine Vol 18 No.5 that were a real labour of love. I'm not going to kid you - these cards took me aaaggggees to make lol :-) I had just received new goodies from Papertrey (the Wonderful Words Dies and matching stamps and a few cardstock colours) and I was so keen to play around with them together.

Here's the end result....

....lots of sentiments from a variety of companies.....all listed in the mag which is very helpful. Of course you can use whatever sentiment and decorative stamps you have in your stash to do the same thing.

 

 

Papers used are from Prima's Madeline A4 paper pad.

I love these PTI products - sadly I've hardly played with them since.....it's sad how that happens in our crafty lives isn't it - new things catch our eye and we forget the old - must make a concerted effort to remedy that! They would be great on my layouts me thinks :-))

I'm off to play with my Shabby Tea Room creation for this week - with this gorgeous inspiration how could I resist!.....

I'm having fun with a sweet, shabby layout instead of a card this time.....will be back to share soon.

We have friends with twins - a boy and a girl and they turned one a couple of weeks ago so this was the perfect challenge to get me busy with their first birthday card..........using Basic Grey's Life of the Party Range.

I created this card first and then thought I'd make a couple more using the same layout but changing the colours, papers and die cuts used. I do love this basic card sketch - a fave of mine:-)

White and Bright

That's exactly the sort of card I have for you today - white and bright:-)

Over on the Manor House Creations Blog we have been having lots of creative fun with beautiful, bright MHC flowers and white cardstock.

I personally loved putting the two together...here's more of my card.....

The flowers are MHC Taneisha and they are sooooooo pretty:-)

It's been a while since I've used my Cuttlebug butterfly die :-)

The sentiment is from Papertrey - from the Big and Bold Wishes set.

Yummy yummy flowers - they are sure to make the recipient smile :-)

I hope you're smiling today too. TGIF tomorrow huh...that's putting a (tired) smile on my face!

I've lost my way....

I must admit to having lost my way a little with my papercrafting. I've been scrapbooking and cardmaking for 10 years now and I've never felt like this.

At the moment I'm constantly questionning why I would be bothered making cards when I have boxes of them on my shelf, very few of them are selling anymore and I can never give as many as I make.

I think about scrapbooking but then wonder why should I bother when my albums are sitting unopened most of the time and will anyone really give a hoot in the years to come. It's sad to feel this way. I am not enjoying it and would love some words of wisdom or advice if you have some. I really want to feel good about this hobby again.

It's been a lean week or so for papercrafting but this afternoon I have finally finished a card for my niece who turns 11 this week.....I enjoyed playing with the pretty Kaisercraft Chapter One paper pad.

My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy

I hope if you're an Aussie you've had a wonderful Australia Day and have celebrated all that is wonderful about living in the greatest country in the world:-) We did! 

For those of you in other parts of the world - I hope your day has been equally great:-)

Some of my absolute favourite papers EVER I think :-)....because of that gorgeous turquoise!

I have 3 cards created with this range published in the current issue of Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft Magazine - Vol 18 No 1.

Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of my cards before I sent them in so now all I have are the mag pics to share...I guess they're better than nothing:-)

I wish there was more to share tonight but lately it's all been for Manor House Creations and Shop and Crop....and I can't quite show anything  just yet:-))

Sketchbook Saturday

We spent the day down at Currumbin Beach with rellies who are staying there for a couple of weeks....it was lovely:-)

Had fun with Kaisercraft's sweet Miss Nelly papers, a Manor House Creations flower and a My Sentiment's Exactly stamp.

Card Patterns 146

Hey there....I hope you've had a great day!

I spent most of the day at my local Kaisercraft Outlet - creating a sweet little birdhouse playing with Bonjour papers and accessories....can't wait to show you when it's finished.

Hey there.....how are you on this glorious Sunday??

A nice, slow holiday start to the day we're having here....pottering around, watering plants, hanging out washing...and now a little bit of blog hopping before I start on my next card kit for Shop and Crop.

Hey there....how's your week going so far?

It's a different one here....my teenage DD is in China...yes CHINA..for a 2 week school trip and boy is it ever different not having her around. I am doing my darndest not to worry and not to miss her terribly but I'm struggling at times that's for sure. 

So yesterday to pull myself out of the doldrums I went shopping...that always helps right:-)) Today it's lunch with girlfriends...another great mood booster yes:-))) In between times as much craftiness squeezed in as possible should help me no end don't you agree??!!

Last night it was the CR84FN#38 Colour Challenge that diverted my attention...look at this cool colour scheme.....

So I grabbed out my Kaisercraft After Five paper pad, some PTI Hibiscus Burst cardstock and a matching flower from Wild Orchid Crafts and here's the result....

I love that jolt of hot pink:-)

So, sitting here in my PJ's is not going to get me out the door to lunch so I'm off to get snazzy lol.

Card Patterns 132

I've been so busy this month with other crafting things that I haven't been able to take part in any challenges, but last night I remedied that situation:-)

I worked with this cool Card Patterns Sketch #132...

It has been a while between cards for me and my beloved Prima Madeline Paper Pad so out she came in all her gorgeous flowery glory.....aaaaaahhhhh:)

I also enjoyed using my PTI dies....By The Numbers and Wonderful Words.

I love them! :-)))

Tonight I plan to attack another of my favourite challenges so I'll be back with that soon. 

TGIF tomorrow.....not to mention School Holidays :-)))) so I'm planning to go crafting craaaaazy for a couple of weeks.....woohoooo:-))

CASE Study Signature Style Challenge

Well - big day here enjoying all the action of.....

....a Netball Carnival.

Always lovely to see them all out there, winning some and of course losing some too.

Unfortunately then you come home and try to catch up on the piles of washing that need to be brought in and folded...all the Mums out there know exactly what I'm talking about *eye roll*

Anyway, washing's all organised so here I am to share a card I created last night for Iwona's current CASE Study Challenge.

What a fab challenge it is too...hardly a challenge really cause you get to create with your "Signature Style"....what could be better than playing with all the goodies you love most:-))

For me that would mean soft colours/a Crafty Secret scrap/flowers/distressed edges/inking/the Doily Lace Punch/some real lace and pearls........in my book YUM YUM YUM :-)) Here's my card....

I hope you've had a lovely weekend and a chance to recharge your batteries ready for another busy week. I'm struggling with the fact that in a few days it's the first of September...oh my lord...the year is flying!!

Birthday Card

Well what a great week.... Show Holiday Monday, my normal day off today....not bad, not bad at all lol.

I've had a lovely time playing with some DT work today but didn't want to neglect you all so here's a card I made on the weekend for a friend and co-worker....no surprises how old she turned:-))

My gorgeous much loved Prima Annalee papers here, MS Doily Lace Punch, PTI Number Dies, Nestie Labels 14 Die, PTI Hawaiian Shores cardstock, SU! Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Prima flower.

I just love that sweet little flower nestled in the seam binding bow....and the glittery numbers to boot:-)) So much to love about this delish hobby....and to top it all off my friend loved her card so that made me smile too.

In the mag.....

Hey there...how's your day going?

Thoroughly enjoying our Show Holiday here:)...it's been a productive one with jobs done, crafty time and even some cooking...woohoo:-)

I've had some cards recently published so thought I'd drop in and pop them up here....these 4 cards were all created a while ago... the first uses 3 sweet Shabby Chic Crafts cupcake tags and See D's Happy Birthday Say It Again stamp...love that set!

The next 3 were created with Bella's Sarah Jane Collection which includes a range of sweet foil labels that I used for my sentiment pieces....

Not the greatest photo of them so here are some singles....

Card Patterns 126 and CARDS Blog Challenge

Well that was a mighty fast week if ever I saw one....whoosh...there it goes!!

Just popping in very quickly tonight to share my card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch #126...

What a FAB sketch! It gave me a great chance to play with the patterned papers in my new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Market St paper pad...love!!

I cut down the Cheery Lyn Doily Die to make it more of an oval shape to fit the sketch....what a sweet little crafty product that is too....puts a smile on my face just looking at that pretty doily pattern:-)

My card also fits the current CARDS Blog Challenge which is to create a birthday card.

Do you have a big weekend planned? Fete season is kicking off here and we'll be helping out at one this Sunday and another next Saturday.....that will make the weekend fly by pretty darn quickly I'm sure.

Birthday Cards

Last week I got busy making a couple of family birthday cards...one for my 14 year old nephew and one for my 75 year old Dad.

Thought I'd share them with you tonight....bet you can guess which is which lol :)

Papers are My Mind's Eye Hattie; stamps are Papertrey; star dies are My Favourite Thing.

Papers are Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers Paper pad; Stamps are Papertrey.

It was fun to play with my Versa Mark Ink Pad, black embossing powder and the old heat gun again.
