Hey there...how are you today?

I hope you've had a happy hump day. Not my usual Wednesday today....I've only just thought of the old bloggo and it's 7pm! Have been busy with DD and her 3 friends today, feeding and driving mainly *lol* - took them to see this....

which they loooooovvvveeeed of course:-))

....and that's not all...they enjoyed themselves so much they all asked if they can stay tonight and tomorrow as well so we have a very full house for a while longer - it's fun! 

But, never fear I have a couple of cards from last week to show you - I certainly didn't get any of my usual crafting time today....

 On this one I had fun with some American Crafts Silver Glitter Embossing Powder with a Stamp It decoration stamp, silver ribbon and a Cuttlebug embossed  background....just a simple, quick Chrissy card - for a change;-)))

 Okay, time for me to make a cup of tea and attack some DT work for Shop and Crop....

Hey there...how are you today?

We had a big night last night at DH's end of year staff do....Polynesian theme it was so here's a piccie....don't laugh too much.....we do like to get into the spirit of these things:))

 
  
So after a crafty get-together yesterday and staff do last night I am definitely staying IN today. DH and DD are going Christmas shopping and grocery shopping so bless their little cotton socks:))))

Here's what I've created this week for the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch.....the sketch looks like this....

and my card looks like this.....

I had so much fun with this sketch and these new Grace Taylor papers....love love love the patterns on these...and they're from Big W I tell you...all together in a huge pack for about $10....woohoo!! They are soooooo gorgeous. That's pretty much all I used on this card....with some tea dyed lace, a die cut tag, my new loop edge border punch from Martha (the obsession continues!) and a ribbon scrap.  

Oh before I go, check this out.....it's my Chrissy pressie from DH coming to me this week from Shop and Crop....look at that great discount!!...can't wait to get it on the wall and fill it up.....

Weekend Workshop

Hey there...hope you're having a happy hump day.

I've managed to get some more Christmas shopping done and have also prepared a hostess gift and lucky door prize for a workshop this weekend.

The group of crafting ladies that originally formed when I was a SU! demo want to continue our crafting get-togethers so we have one this Saturday. I have played with a range of Christmas goodies to make some gift tags which I will bundle up for the hostess and door prize winner.....here they are all laid out together....

....how grateful am I that my Mum saved all this beautiful ribbon of all shapes and sizes for me...cause that's where I found 2 long lengths of this scrummy red ribbon....just perfect.

A birthday celebration and Mojo 113

We are celebrating a special day today.....my DD's birthday:-)) She bounced downstairs at 6:30am to open her pressies on our bed as is tradition in our home. This pressie was a very big hit....

I hit the shops this morning, put a dent in the credit card but got some birthday (DD) and Christmas shopping out of the way....that feels a little better:-))

I am late this week with my Mojo Monday Sketch Card....but I loved the sketch and wanted to make another Chrissy card with it...here's the sketch.....

My, they do seem to go by incredibly fast don't they.

We just pottered around the house catching up with odd jobs and getting our strength back after our sicko week. It was good:)

I caught up on a bit of crafting, a Calendar layout, 2 layouts for an upcoming crafty get-together with friends and a card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 105...couldn't resist making another chrissy card....I'm on a mission with them you know...I'll have to count up how many I'm up to this week:)

Holiday Button Bits Fun

Hey there....how are you today?

I am so happy to report that both DH and I are getting back to normal. We're back at work and feeling more like our old selves each day....thank goodness:-))

I have played a little more with the wonderful Papertrey Ink Holiday button Bits set and am having so much fun getting some Chrissy cards made...they're piling up in the box now I'm happy to say:-))

Here's the latest couple I've added to the pile...

I must admit I just love this one.....I think the little snowman is sooooo cute. Which is really quite hilarious because here in SE Qld it'll be about 35 degrees celsius (at least) on Christmas Day but I still love the thought of the little snowman with his Christmas wish....go figure huh:-))

Oh dear...both DH and I have been sick and haven't had the energy to do anything. After a visit to the doctors today I'm off for a pile of blood tests in the morning so hopefully in a few days I'll have some answers.

I have had a very productive morning, cleaning out cupboards, rearranging things and soon we're going out to lunch so all in all a good day:))

I have a card to show you created with the current sketch at The Sweet Stop....this is the sketch...

There is a spin to the sketch....you needed to add something recycled....in my case the text flowers....punched with the Retro Daisy Punches from the pages of an ancient Enid Blyton book.

I combined the sketch and the latest Colour Throwdown combo of these 3 gorgeous colours....

My blue is not exactly right but I was keen to finish off some My Mind's Eye scraps from last Christmas...I do love this blue/brown/sand combo for Christmas.....

Oooops AWOL:(

Oh dear...sorry about that.....I've been a slack blogger this week and I have a really bad excuse....

pathetic in fact....

I'm not happy with myself....

and it was all because of this....

and then this.....

I was totally sucked in to the whole saga....

like I'd been swallowed up and was spinning around in this huge vortex, unable to get out and totally consumed by the comings and goings of the weirdest group of characters I've ever met in my life.

What came over me? I hate vampire stories. I hate  scary stories too.

Well actually DD helped me there....by giving me a few hints as to what was coming up so I wouldn't totally freak out....that got me through....yep I'm a wuss and that's all there is to it! Guilty as charged!

But, you know what...I used to love to read but I just can't any more cause I love my card making/scrapping too and I just can't seem to do both...well I certainly haven't managed to in the last week or more. Pathetic! Thank God that's over...I really do feel a relief that now my life can get back to normal and I will have heaps of time (well some anyway) to create my little heart out. Stay away compelling, soppy sagas....I don't want to read you!! *lol*

Thankfully, I do have something creative to share...another layout for my Mum's Xmas Calendar....20cm x 20cm...such a lovely size to play with.

I try to keep these fairly simple, fairly flat cause once the calendar is full with the 12 layouts it all adds up to a bit of bulk hanging on or more like off the wall.

It has been a busy one here - but lovely. We've had a visitor which is why I have been scarce here on the blog....preparing for and then spending some time altogether with DH's big brother. It's fun when the two of them get together....lots of nonsense. It's a lovely rainy afternoon here now and BIL has headed into Bris so I've had some creative time this afternoon while DH watched Bathurst.

Of course the first thing I wanted to do before I missed the deadline was Beate's WSC 101...you know how I LOVE sketches:)
