A Happy Scramper

A quick update...

Hey there...how are you? I hope you've had a great week.

Wow not often I'm not around on the bloggo  for a whole week....felt strange not being able to pop in and share my latest creation....but the time away was good for me....makes you miss and appreciate (even more) this beautiful hobby we have:-)

I hope you caught my scheduled post last night for Cardabilities....my last card for them....on the DT anyway - I love Karan's sketches so much I'll keep playing along when time permits:-))

We had a wonderful few days away....Peppers at Kingscliff is a great spot to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our day trips around the local area doing what we wanted, when we wanted :-)).....as you can when there's only the 2 of you - and you can please yourselves.

Monday was the most perfect Winter's Day so one of the places we checked out was Byron Bay....look how calm it was....

We spent an hour watching whales cruise by just off shore.

You can get the most delicious homemade ice cream at the Lighthouse Cafe.....yummm wish I could have another right now lol:-))

Mum and the kids looked after each other while we were away and Mum and I managed some good "catch ups" in amongst it all too.....this morning she headed home on the train and I hit my scrap room to finish off my cards for the July Card Kit at Shop and Crop.

Tonight I'm making a start on another sympathy card to sell over at Aussie Cards for Sale....looking so forward to playing with my crafty doo-dads again....aaaah sweet papercrafting;-))

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Hey there......Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums out there! I hope you are enjoying your special day!

Mine started with gifts and breakfast in bed.....a big cooked brekkie....delicious! My main present will hopefully be here tomorrow....a big order from Papertrey Ink....I had been stalking the site for weeks waiting for the Tiny Tags Dies to be back in stock so I could finally place my order.....can't wait to get my hands on my new PTI!!!

Last night I played with the Mojo Monday sketch for this week #189....here it is....

Get Your Diva On Challenge

 

Hey there....hope you've had a great day!

I'm happy to report that Misty got through her dew claw operation really well and although a bit dopey still from the drugs she's doing well tonight.

I've been playing tonight with a new Verve challenge - the Get Your Diva On April Recipe Challenge. It's a lot of fun! You just follow the recipe depending on what letter your name starts with....

 

Must say I was delighted to play with the sweet goodies for the letter "L".....no problems at all.....and looooove the colour combo......twas perfect for pulling out my new Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers....

 
I fussy cut two butterflies from the paper and layered them together....

 
I also had fun with a snippet of recycled cardboard packaging to lay the butterflies on.

Well it's only 8:30pm but I'm heading to bed...I'm beat! TGIF tomorrow and TGIHolidays as well - Wooooohooooo! Tomorrow night I plan to play a LOT later than 8:30pm ;-)) Looking forward to that!

I'll be posting my first Cardabilities card for my DT term tomorrow night so hope you'll be able to pop by and see that....Karan comes up with the most brilliant sketches!

Verve Week 4

 

Hi there...how's your weekend going?

It's a warm one here...now that the washing's under control I'm enjoying a little crafting and I've attacked the last VERVE Sketch for this month. I've worked hard on my 4 cards for this month....I really would like to win some wonderful Verve stamps so I'll keep giving it my best shot....it's heaps of fun with these great sketches....here's No.4....

 
I wanted to play with some Shabby Chic goodies so I pulled out my Kaisercraft English Rose paper pad and die cuts, some tea dyed twill, a few Prima roses, my Bird Notes Clear Art Stamps and a glittered Bella Chipz frame and here's the result....

 
Boy I had fun with this card :-)) I think I had a smile on my face the whole time I was making it lol.Talk about good therapy!

Sweet Echo Park

 

Hey there....I hope you're having a good end to the week:-)

I'm back tonight to share a few cards that you might have seen in the latest Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft Magazine.....Vol 16. No. 11.

I had a great time playing with the bright and beautiful Echo Park "Walk in the Park" line....love it:-)

I was lucky enough to even have this one on the cover.....

 

.......a bit of fun with ruffled Kaisercraft ribbon on this one.....

 

....and then a ruffly handmade flower for the next....

 

 

I've been told these cards are doing a little tour around Australia and new Zealand with the Craft Expo throughout 2011....you'll be able to check them out in the Papercraft Showroom.

Along with these gorgeous cards from my crafty friend Therese. Very cool:-))

Do you have some crafty plans for the evening?? I am hoping to start on a couple of combined challenges....so I'd better go and get started.

Verve Week 1 November

 
Hey there.....how's your weekend shaping up so far?

It's a sunny yet rainy day here in SE Qld today....a little bit of both.

I've had a play last night with the first Verve Sketch for this month....which looks like this...

 
We had to choose an inspiration pic to go with it...here's mine....

 
So I tried to get the red onto my card and that sweet country feel iykwim....

It's so much fun playing with sweet papercrafting supplies isn't it:-)))))) Makes me so happy!

I'll be getting even more crafting time this coming fortnight as I recuperate from my Gall Bladder surgery.....yep that's what I have to look forward to on Wednesday. I've tried to fight the little blighters (Gallstones that is) for 2 months seeing a Naturopath and thinking I was making some progress until 2 nasty attacks got the better of me this week and saw me head off to the surgeon and book in for surgery asap. Gotta get my life back and stop living in limbo I tell ya!

So hopefully for you guys that means more blog posts with more creativity to be seen....that's the plan anyway;-)
