I don't think I've played with a Creative Scrappers Challenge before although I've long admired them.

It was great to have some time last week to create a layout about my daughter growing into a young woman.....

First of all the sketch.....

I adore layouts that show my children over the years....just love seeing the changes, the similarities, the cute little chubby baby cheeks lol :-)))

Handmade by Suzanne March challenge

Manor House teams up with Creative Scrappers

Hey there - happy Friday to you :-)

This month Manor House Creations is sponsoring Creative Scrappers for their 200th sketch!! so a few of us DT girls had a fun play with this month's Creative Scrappers sketch using MHC flowers and The Scrapcake Papers - also carried by MHC. 

Here's the fab sketch -

and the card I created based on it....

The papers are Scrap Cake's One Moment in Time papers and they are soft and subtle which I love:-)

MHC flowers I've used are the new Pink Sprinkles and Sugar and Spice in pink too.

Love these fluffy sweet flowers aaaahhh:-)

Well tonight I'm playing with the March Handmade by Suzanne sketch and some gorgeous MME Miss Caroline goodies. I'll be back to share as soon as it's done.

Verve Feb Week 2

Hey there....how are you this morning?

It's a wet one here in SE QLD...in fact we've had 4 inches of rain overnight!....and it's still coming down. Poor DD is off to help out at her school's Open Day - can't imagine too many people will want to trudge around in the rain checking out a prospective school today - much nicer to stay snuggled warm and dry at home - as I plan to;-))

Actually we have everything crossed that the installers (remember that kitchen reno?) will be back this morning to put the rangehood back up and get all the last little details finished so our kitchen is ALL COMPLETE. Can't wait:-))) I will have photos once it's all done.

Apart from all of that, I do have a card to share for another Verve Feb Sketch....this time for week 2 which looks like this......

I couldn't go past the Kaisercraft Chapter One paper pad again....I think I'll make a set of cards with it for my Verve sketches this month:-)

Apart from this I have been designing the March Card Kit for Shop and Crop....using the very cool A Boy's Life from Echo Park....it's a lot of fun to play with:-) Look out for that next week.

I should be back before then though - with this perfect rainy crafty weather I plan to play with a few more challenges this weekend:-)

Getting back on track...

Thank you so much - I really appreciate the comments left and have been able to think about how I can happily dive back into my papercrafting again.

I was feeling overwhelmed by the number of cards that just sit in my cupboard and I remembered that 12 months ago I bundled a pile up and sent them somewhere they'd be appreciated. I needed to do that again !

It felt great!

Just clearing out 25 or so cards has cleared my head and my cupboard a little and now I feel happy to make more. I feel a need to make more - for some reason that's important to me - I don't enjoy just making for the sake of it.

I also plan to bundle up a small number of cards each month and send them off to a family member or friend who will be able to use them as they see fit.....a little RAK I guess.

So, I feel reinvigorated to get crafting again and enjoyed playing last night with one of the current VERVE sketches. It's been a while...and I do love the sweet VERVE sketches....here's # 1 for FEB....

I played with the delightful Kaisercraft One Chapter 6x6 paper pad...I am loving it!

Love the sentiments in the Inkadinkado Friendly Advice set :-)

Once Upon A Sketch Jan 15 Challenge

Hey there....how's your day going?

It is a VERY wet day here...we've had inches of rain overnight and there's a severe weather warning for today so glad I can stay inside all dry and cozy:-))

Here is my photo for today for the January Photo Challenge....the prompt just happened to be WATER - well there's heaps of that around today....this is what our pergola looks like.....

Last night I had heaps of fun playing with the new challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch. Here are all the details -

Or maybe you can journal about your thoughts for the new year.

Things that you can journal about: a new job, house, baby or new scrapping adventures or Design Teams. Are you taking time off work? Are you planning a holiday somewhere? Maybe your children are starting school or you are getting a new pet. Or you could tell us why you are glad 2011 is over or why you will miss it. Anything goes really!

I love the idea of this journalling prompt so much I'm going to create another layout for "Hello 2012". I may even get to play a little today:-)

We headed up to Mt Tamborine today for a lovely lunch and a wander around...beautiful:-))

Card Patterns 146

Hey there....I hope you've had a great day!

I spent most of the day at my local Kaisercraft Outlet - creating a sweet little birdhouse playing with Bonjour papers and accessories....can't wait to show you when it's finished.

But for now, here's my card for the current Card Patterns sketch which looks like this.....

Manor House Creations January Sketch

Hey there...today I have a layout to share for the January Sketch Challenge at Manor House Creations. It's a great sketch from Monika ....

I loved it so much I couldn't resist creating a layout.....to show DD's Xmas Wish List.....

Lots of her wishes came true.....but not the treadmill....or the braces.....although the braces could come off this month - fingers crossed :-))

Papers are of course from Manor House Creations - from the Scrap Cake's Cozy Xmas range.

Love the MHC flowers....I've used Taneisha (the pick one above); a red Velvetine; some Esperence and Airlie Blossoms (the aqua/white and grey above); and a Shimmers Snow....originally white but then glittered and glimmer misted to suit the layout.

 

Something else to share today is this....

 

I thought this would be a fun way to start the year....so here are my photos for Jan 1 and 2.....

Bird is the Word Sketch

Hey there.....long time no see huh!

It's been a busy couple of weeks as my two teens wind down school for another year - including my eldest graduating....

What an emotional time for this Mum.....making it even more so is that he's now here....

.....yep Schoolies. And no he's not in this pic courtesy of goldcoast.com.au. Let's hope he can avoid all media attention over the coming days!

So what better way to keep my mind busy than to scrap a page about my firstborn....using the current sketch and word over at Bird is the Word Challenge.

What a fantastic sketch huh!!

With the word "Wish" to be used on the layout it gave me the perfect opportunity to scrap a page outlining all I wish for, for my darling boy.....you'll see a Maya Rd kraft envie on my layout which contains the letter I wrote him today full of my wishes and dreams for him for his future.

I had a wonderful time playing with all the goodies in the Memory Works Simple Stories Life Documented Collection Kit. Oh WOW what a kit! I love it - now I want them all :-))) They have everything you need in there....just FAB!

The chippy bird, branch and house are from Maya Rd.....aaaaaawww!

Basic Grey Card Sketch

Hey there...I hope you're having a great weekend.

Wow the weather is fantastic here in SE Qld.

DH and I enjoyed this view over lunch at the Kurrawa Surf Club yesterday.....

what a perfect start to our holiday :)

Last night I was keen to make a card for the first Card Sketch up at the new Basic Grey Blog. Basic Grey has always been one of my favourites....what a cool sketch too....

I used my 6x6 Out of Print paper pad......hope you're ready for patterned paper overload lol....

Such a cool graphic range of papers:-)

Now it's time for me to get off here and go and weigh some luggage:-)

Card Patterns 132

I've been so busy this month with other crafting things that I haven't been able to take part in any challenges, but last night I remedied that situation:-)

I worked with this cool Card Patterns Sketch #132...

It has been a while between cards for me and my beloved Prima Madeline Paper Pad so out she came in all her gorgeous flowery glory.....aaaaaahhhhh:)

I also enjoyed using my PTI dies....By The Numbers and Wonderful Words.

I love them! :-)))

Tonight I plan to attack another of my favourite challenges so I'll be back with that soon. 

TGIF tomorrow.....not to mention School Holidays :-)))) so I'm planning to go crafting craaaaazy for a couple of weeks.....woohoooo:-))

Shabby Tea Room and MME Challenges

Hey there...hope you had a great Saturday.

I spent a few hours serving Pork Rolls and Nachos....at the school fete....it was good to be involved and meet other parents. Where would schools be at times like that without lots of parents chipping in hey....it's what you've gotta do:-))

Tonight, whilst kicking back and enjoying my creative time, I've been playing with the latest challenges from My Mind's Eye and The Shabby Tea Room....here are the challenges....

 

Here's my card based on the MME sketch and the colours and theme from The Shabby Tea Room.....

Papers are from MME Hattie Paper Pad, stamp set is Basic Grey, lace is Kaisercraft,"hello" is part of a sentiment in the PTI Think Big Favourites 3 Set, glittered Ric-Rac is from American Crafts, buttons are from my grandma:-)

Tomorrow looks like another big day....a Uni Open Day to check out, a trip to Spotlight for some work related craft shopping and then shoe shopping for DD's Dinner Dance....that should be quite enough to fill the day I think.

Lucky I'll be home on Monday enjoying the Brisbane Show Holiday....yippee!

Card Patterns 126 and CARDS Blog Challenge

Well that was a mighty fast week if ever I saw one....whoosh...there it goes!!

Just popping in very quickly tonight to share my card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch #126...

What a FAB sketch! It gave me a great chance to play with the patterned papers in my new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Market St paper pad...love!!

I cut down the Cheery Lyn Doily Die to make it more of an oval shape to fit the sketch....what a sweet little crafty product that is too....puts a smile on my face just looking at that pretty doily pattern:-)

My card also fits the current CARDS Blog Challenge which is to create a birthday card.

Do you have a big weekend planned? Fete season is kicking off here and we'll be helping out at one this Sunday and another next Saturday.....that will make the weekend fly by pretty darn quickly I'm sure.

My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge

I am back to share my card for the My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch and the deets...

Along with the sketch, you must use this theme: Song Lyrics – you choose the song! (be sure to credit the artist{s})....

I wanted to use the MME Gertie range....and the doily stamps and colours looked pretty groovy which led me to use the song lyrics from Simon and Garfunkel's - "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)". 

Well you can't say it's not bright!

...and after that I'm yearning to play with something soft and shabby so that's what I'm off to do....

That sweet butterfly cluster makes me smile.

My darling family also make me smile...they just surprised me with a "Love You Mum" chocolate cake for dessert.....just the Woolies variety chocolate mud cake but still very sweet of them all the same.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Mine started with gifts and breakfast in bed.....a big cooked brekkie....delicious! My main present will hopefully be here tomorrow....a big order from Papertrey Ink....I had been stalking the site for weeks waiting for the Tiny Tags Dies to be back in stock so I could finally place my order.....can't wait to get my hands on my new PTI!!!
